Second Pitch - Disguise\ Disgu-eyes
becky king
Using the popular saying 'turning a blind eye' we expanded forming an idea relating to the horror genre.
SYNOPSIS
Our idea is a horror movie depicting a serial killer who tortures their victims, gouging their eyes out and preserving them in jars before mailing them to the authorities.
The serial killer was abused as a child and the police and law never stepped in to put a stop to the situation. The killer mails the eyes mocking the polices inability to catch them.
The killer abducts police officer 'Terri'and tortures her. Meanwhile her sister attempts to find and rescue her.
We moulded our story to fit Todorov's Theory
Stage A - Equilibrium is established in film and characters are introduced
The off duty police officer, Terri is in her house livingroom watching television alone. Television shows a news report from the latest in a line of murders of officers in her area. The news shows the serial killer was abducting people and torturing them. Mailing the police the remains of the victims, thereby mocking their in action.Terri looks woried. As report finishes lights flicker out
Stage B - Disruption of equilibrium via problem or event
Terrri hears creaking of door and gets up aprehensivly. she opens the door only to find no one, after this she sits back down off guard and is asulted and kidnapped.
Stage C - Realisation that a problem has occurred
Terri's sister sarah comes to her house for a movie night only to find her missing with blood on the floor.
Stage D – attempt to repair damage of disruption and the problem is solved
Sarah attempts to rescue Terri and finds the hideout of the serial killer.
Stage E – restoration of equilibrium or happy ending
