Masking
Masking is used to show how one person can be in the same shot at the same time. They are effective as it creates a clone effect and catches the viewers attention.

How We Did It
1) Firstly open (file- import) and edit the two chosen videos to the length you want and drag your two desired videos into video 1 and video 2 on the timeline. So the video of the two people in the shot goes in video 1 and the other video where the person walks in is positioned in video 2
2) Secondly, I typed in linear wipe, as this is the tool that will make the masking effect visible, I clicked on it in order to create a faint split line between the two videos.
3) Then, I went to the tab titled 'Effect Controls' and the dropdown for linear wipe had a tool calles 'Transition'. I toggled around with the percentage, I decided to go with 64% as this makes both people in the shot more easier to see.
Finally, this is what it will look like once you have followed the previous steps as instructed. Once you have completed all these steps you then render and export the movie as a '.mov'
