Audience Expectations

I asked my target audience what they expect to be in a horror movie and what they most like in the horror genre. Their feedback will help us to follow the horror movie conventions, and show us the most popular aspects of the genre according to those interviewed. 

 

The audience seemed to enjoy jumpscares, adrenaline and suspence in horror movies, so our film trailer must contain these aspects. Many of the target audience expected gore or blood in the movie, to follow these conventions and give our trailer a proffessional look we will also use blood and gore in our movie. When asked which aspects they enjoyed there were split views - some wanted jumpscares, others wanted gore and one individual wanted pysychological horror. A patterni noticed in interviewing these individuals was the nned for suspence, jumpscares and gore so these will be key elements in our trailer.
