Production company logo fades into screen and music starts, slow and sgentle with a ticking sound reflecting the tempo.

We first see an introductory long shot of 2 boys.

Dialogue is used constantly in this trailer to advance the story line and help the audience understand the story.

The first boy says, “it’s a file, it’s from your mum.”and a POV shot shows the file and an aged letter. The next shot is a long shot introducing peter’s mother. These shots are short, barely a second long, but through the shots and dialogue the audience understands the storyline.

The first title is then shown, “from the director Joe Wright” the title boasts about the director, as he is well known.

A voice over is used as the mother seemed to be reading the letter aloud. The letter says she longs for the day she can see him again, implying she left. This is enforced by quick shots of the mother putting a letter in a baby’s clothes and kissing him goodbye and an establishing shot of an orphanage. The lighting in the orphanage is blue tinted creating a gloomy oppressive atmosphere. A woman stands at the top of some stairs looking down on the children implying a very controlling environment with little independence, however the next shot show peter in an act of defiance, throwing the food on the floor and standing up. As he stands there is a low angle mid-shot showing the power he holds as the woman looks on in anger. The mothers voiceover continues over this scene assuring he is loved and special. She promises she “will see you again, in this world or another” as her dialogue ends peter whispers “Or another”, hinting to gthe audience he will be taken to another world. The next shot is a long shot of children being taken by figures out of shot. And the climax shows a flying ship taking peter in a long shot.

We first see a pirate shout “welcome to Nederland!” This introduces the audience the other world. A long shot shows hordes of pirates screaming and the screen cuts to another title, ‘this summer’ as a voice is introduced to the music repeating the words “this is not the end of it, this is the beginning of it.” The music is now uplifting and epic in a major key with a jovial tone. Establishing shots show the ship and pirate threatens peter with a sword, the settings are blue and green tinted. This connotes there will be danger. The next title states ‘the untold story’, this intrigues the audience and they want to know more. The next 3 shots show peter working in the mines under a soft orange glow and a introductory shot of a man watching him. The next title shows, ’of the legend’ as everyone knows the story of peter pan, this movie promises a twist. The man introduces him self as ‘James hook’ however he no longer looks like the evil character of our legends. Ihe next shots show a colorful tribal camp and the dialogue is a man, probably the leader or a wise man saying “The little one, he wears the pan” The pan clearly has some significance to the story line and peter wears it. A woman is shown in a close up saying, “the pan is our tribes bravest warrior”. A mid- shot shows pans serious face and a long shot of the camp is shown.

The music changes and a man says, “Well well well, the princess I assume”, the man is clearly a rich villain due to his dark olden day expensive clothing and smirking expression. The music also changes as he appears to a darker tone. The man orders one of his men to punch hook. “Are you insane” a person off screen shouts as peter falls obviously in danger. The n ext title says “Hugh Jackman as blue beard” and 2 shots are shown of his character, the next title says “Garret headland as hook” and shows shots of him this is repeated for 2 other characters as music builds up to climax, short shots that are irrelevant to each other are shown in quick succession and at climax the flying ship crashes into an obstacle causing an explosion.

Music is now slow piano music as peter claims not to believe in bedtime stories, linking to the audience knowing this story to be one. Finally the title of the movie pan comes on screan as epic music plays and date flashes by then production companies and major people involved in the film as music dies down.
